"Home" unfolds, weaving a narrative around the concept of "A Room of One's Own” at Arts at Blue Roof Studios. Through the mesmerizing lens of clown dance, Blossom Wilder takes the audience on a profound journey within an enclosed world. The film intricately explores Blossom's self-discovery and emotional odyssey, guided by the transformative power of Alexandria Douziech's installation, "for protection, with love.”

As Blossom navigates this intimate space, she encounters an outlet that bridges her inner reality with the vastness of the fantastical outside world. "Home" is not just a film; it's an arthouse revelation that explores the depths of solitude and the liberation found in artistic expression. It's a poignant reminder of the spaces we carve for ourselves, both physically and spiritually, and the transcendent power of art to connect us to the world beyond our boundaries.

Our theme this year is "REFLECTIONS: a poetic exploration of human emotion, self-discovery, and cinematic nostalgia." How do you think your film relates to this theme?

By reflecting on the pandemic and our experience through the eyes of the next generation.

What do you hope to communicate with our audience through your work?

I hope to communicate a sense of child like wonder and a longing to create.

Darrel "Friidom" Dunn, a Dallas native and multidisciplinary artist, blends movement, storytelling, and philosophy to create immersive experiences. He holds a B.A. in Arts and Technology from The University of Texas at Dallas and is currently pursuing an MFA in Choreography at CalArts. Known as a Willy Wonka of Movement, Friidom pioneered "Epiic," a style combining Krump, street styles, Movement Futurism, and orchestral gestures. This approach, influenced by his heritage and Dallas's storytelling movement community, is performed to film scores, orchestral music, and soundscapes. Now based in Los Angeles, CA, Friidom works as a director, choreographer, actor, and movement artist, working with NASA-JPL, Universal Music Enterprises, Disney, WACO Theater Center, Geffen Playhouse, Debbie Allen, Nobuko Miyamoto, Tyler The Creator, Cannons The Band, and more. His work, featured in Intersect Palm Springs, LA Dance Project, Department of Cultural Affairs, LA Weekly, and LA Times, aims to revolutionize movement, arts, technology, and entertainment. His mantra, "Live Frii, Be Epiic," invites self-discovery and artistic liberation.
